10 Ways to Make Sure the Interviewer Remembers You (In a Good Way)

Hello UGA!

We all love a good list right?  Well TPE posted another link from The Muse, a website focused on job opportunities and career advice, about making a lasting impression during interviews!  Check out the link below, and let me know if there is anything I can be helping you with during this job search process.

A Few Helpful Articles

Hello UGA!

The Placement Exchange has been posting some great stuff on their Facebook page, most of which would be useful regardless of whether you are attend TPE Onsite or not.  The first is a funny/nerdy guide to navigating and networking on LinkedIn, found below:

https://www.themuse.com/advice/the-star-wars-guide-to-networking-on-linkedin

The second article provides advice and suggestions on how to answer one of the most common and difficult interview questions, “what is your greatest weakness?”

Hopefully these articles will provide some useful tips as you continue through your job search.

What to Pack!

Hello Job Searchers!

I know that some of these items may seem super obvious, but I found this packing list in a TPE Information packet that I thought might be helpful.  I’ve included a copy below, in case there is anything on the list that you may forget to pack for your job interviews or conferences!  I hope that all of your job searches are going well.  Let me know if there is anything I can do to help with your process, even if it is outside of TPE related things!

What Do You Know About Student Affairs?

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Another TPE Ambassador had shared a ton of resources with me to help second year students in their job search and interview process.  One helpful chart that I have asks the question “what do I know about student affairs?” and allows you to rate how well you know a variety of topics.  Though this chart obviously does not cover all facets of student affairs, it can be a helpful reflection tool, so you know what your strengths and weaknesses are going in to an interview.  I have attached a copy of the chart below!
